Approaching our 50th anniversary we have been toying with the idea of releasing a box set to celebrate this special occasion.
For the new album we invited the original Wild Blues guys from 1970: Charles van den Heuvel (piano), Fred Huissen (drums), Charles van der Steeg (tenor saxophone) and co-founder Jos de Wilde (slide).
Great to see everyone invited was still playing and still had the blues feel from the early days. Even after all those years it felt like they never left the band.
Most of the tracks were recorded live in one take, just like the good old Wild Blues days.
The results can be heard on the new double album “50 & Beyond”.
The physical 4CD Box - also including the solo album "Not Now John' and the 1973 recordings of the Boarding School Session by Hellhound - was released on 13th of January 2018 and was sold out in 10 weeks time and is not available anymore. But you can still download the digital double album '50 & Beyond'. Enjoy!
